New single from Seattle based trio Kikker. The band, originally formed ten years ago by guitarist Jerry Ames and drummer Vince Dina under the name Spiral Staircase, scored a hit with the single "I Love You More Than Yesterday" which to date has sold over three million copies. But, according to Ames the lack of a follow up hit soon caused the band members to go their separate ways. The group  reformed several years later and performed in Reno and Lake Tahoe show clubs as a nine piece show band but, according to Ames, "The act just didn't hang together due, primarily, to the economic downswing in Nevada at the time." By that time Suzy McCleary had been added to the band on keyboards, so after several months, Jerry, Vince and Suzy broke off and formed Kikker. Ames adds, "We decided to move to Seattle and quit travelling around. We just wanted to concentrate on writing and recording." The new single features "Thief On The Run", written by Suzi McCleary and a remake of "Since I Fell For You" written by Buddy Johnson and a hit from 10 years ago. Commenting on the song, Jerry says, "A lot of bands have been scoring hits lately with remakes, so we thought we'd give it a try, too." So far the song has reached number 33 on a local Olympia station playlist and the band is setting their  sights on Seattle stations. What are the future plans for Kikker? Jerry Ames says "We're gonna make as much noise as possible."

A variation of the preceding originally appeared in NORTHWEST DISC-COVERIES & SOUND REPORT  Volume 6 #6 August, 1983.
