LOLLIPOP SHOPPE, The [NV/CA]

Homebase: Las Vegas, NV
Stats:
1966 +
Misc Notes:

Lollipop Shoppe was NOT a Northwest band. However, as one of guitarist/singer/songwriter Fred Cole's first rock incarnations it was an important foundation piece for what became Portland, Oregon's long lasting punk recording  scene.

The group  started out in  mid 1960s Las Vegas as The Weeds. It then moved to California and northward as The Lollipop Shoppe.

Arriving in Portland, Lollipop Shoppe once again became (as a trio) The Weeds. Cole - along with wife "Toody" -  went on to establish a strong Portland musical  presence which continued until his death.
