"Begging For My Love" "I Believe" / "Vecchio Scarpone" "Yours"

SERIAL#: -1336
DATE: 1981-02

MISC NOTES: "Second 45 outing for a young woman born on the island of Susak in what is now Yugoslavia, but who now calls Seattle her home.  Ms. Picinich came to Puget Sound country via Italy with her family in the 1960s. As for her recordings, Judy emphasizes that she is not a professional performer, merely someone ho has enjoyed singing for her own pleasure and with church groups, so decided to make records for friend both here and overseas. In this vein, she made her first 4-song EP featuring "Tutte Le Mamme",  "Al Di La", "Nella Valle and "Cherry Pink and Apple Blossom White" back in 1974 (Topaz Records TS - 1332 Seattle, WA.). Commenting on her second 4-song disc, she characterizes "Begging For My Love" as the melody to the popular Italian tune Tutte Le Mamme to which added original lyrics. As for " I Believe" and "Yours", she says they are two of her favorite American songs, while "Vecchio Scarpone" which is sung in  Italian, was popular in that country during the early 1950s. All four songs are mid-tempo ballads.[ NORTHWEST DISC-COVERIES & SOUND REPORT Volume 6 #4 June, 1981.]
