"I Hope The Rabbit Dies" / "Foolish Lovers"

ARTIST: VALI & DEE
SERIAL#: 45-193
DATE: 1980-12

MISC NOTES:

Debut recordings from two California-born sisters raised in the Corvallis area of Oregon and performing music for the past four years. The sisters, Valerie Briggs and Denise Francis, have generally pursued their musical interests as solo hobby careers, but all hat changed when some months back they appeared together on a country novelty song that Denise had penned entitled "I Hope The Rabbit Dies". The tune, says Denise, turned out so well the two decided to release it on Ripcord Records and, with the attention the song has received the duo has been looking to performances and new recording sessions with renewed interest.  As for "I Hope The Rabbit Dies" , Ms. Francis says it lyrically concerns itself with a woman who's been wronged by her two timing husband, but rather than look the other way the woman is telling hubby to "get out and I'll take you for everything you've got." As for the companion tune, Denise characterizes "Foolish Lovers" as a mid tempoed country number with a 1950's feel. Lyrically it deals with the heartaches that befall most love affairs.
