Misc Notes: The Avantis were a surf-rock era band that included Judd Hamilton from the state of Washington. Other members included Pat and Lolly Vegas (who would later form Redbone, with drummer Pete DePoe from Neah Bay, WA.), and Danny Whitten (who would later work with Neil Young). The Avantis recorded "Surfin' Granny" / "Do The Surfin' Granny" (Regency 107) for Regency Records which was owned and operated by Josie Wilson -- the mother/manager of the Ventures' guitarist, Don Wilson.
