BRIGADE, The

Homebase: Portland, OR
Stats: 1966-1970
Misc Notes: The Brigade's roots trace back to an earlier band, the Better Set, which included: Peter Belknap (vocals);  Tim Vetter (bass); and Bob Anderson (drums). As this morphed over time, they added: Ed Wallo (guitar) and Eric Anderson (keys). When Vetter was drafted into the military in 1968, Mark Hartman (bass) joined the group. In 1968 the band were the winners of the KISN Portland Teen Fair and Battle of the Bands. In 1969 Dennis Steindel (bass) came aboard, and in 1970 they recorded their sole eponymous album.
