Misc Notes: Marvin Ray Ruff (1938-2005) was 18 years old when he was hired as a staffer by Norman Petty to work in his Clovis, New Mexico-based recording studio. Ruff led his own Checkers combo and after recording their "Love" / "Lonely Hours" single (Norman Records #N-528) he made a connection with Seattle's Seafair-Bolo label's management and a deal was struck to release a new single. This was their only association with Northwest music history.
