Misc Notes: Childress was a young musicians who was "discovered" in Oregon in 1958 by Charles J. Klemer who was associated with the Los Angeles label, Lyric Records. In 1959 Klemer -- who had been born in Eugene and raised there, and in Coos Bay, and Portland -- founded his own Ever-Green Records in 1959. Klemer also produced Childress' song "Valley of Romance" for Lyric Records. Childress was owner of Lloyd Center Records.
