Misc Notes: This doo-wop trio had several personal changes between 1958 and 1962. The original members were Elliott Gabriel (bass), J. Marls and William “Mickey” Stevenson. Gabriel was the brother of renowned musician Charles Henry Gabriel, and toured with many vocal groups including, Bobby Day and the Satellites, the Classics, and Bobby Thurston. Stevenson went on to become song writer, producer and head of Motown Records’ A&R department through the 1960’s. During this time he was husband to Motown star Kim Weston and wrote or co-wrote many of Motown’s monster hits. The Classics recorded in L.A. cutting 1 single for Class Records and another for Crest Records.
