Misc Notes: The Seattle Times (January 27, 1935): A "prominent Seattle pianist--teacher, accompanist, soloist, organist, who has composed many fine numbers, but whose fame is limited to those only who care enough about things to ferret them out." The Seattle Post-Intelligencer (July 12, 1936): Using the pen name of "Gene Barry" Coburn -- a "Seattle pianist, teacher and composer" won the $100 cash prize in the Berton Braley "A Boondoggle Ballad" contest conducted by that newspaper. S. Arlo Woodard was a runner-up.
