MISC NOTES: For six years a Mercer Island, Washington rock act known as Storm plugged away in the one-nighter high school dance circuit with Top-40 cover material. Then, a fall 1980 personnel change prompted the act to seek new directions including a musical shift to original compositions and contemporary "fun-rock" choices. Along with the change in musical identity also came the name Dick Tracy and a trip to Pacific West Recorders in Redmond, Washington to make these recordings. Commenting on the recorded tunes, drummer Don Bennett characterizes "My Shadow" as an acoustically oriented, mid-tempo art rock production effort with lyrical focus pertaining to a young man with an alcohol problem. As for "Let's Make Lunch," Bennett says this uniquely titled number is an up tempo, driving, swing rock rock piece with "tongue in cheek pun-oriented" lyrics.
