EASTON, LYNN

Homebase: Portland, OR
Stats: June 6, 1944 -- April 24, 2020
Misc Notes: The founding drummer of The Kingsmen, who took over the band, and after their recording of "Louie Louie" (which featured vocals and rhythm guitar by Jack Ely) became a national hit in late-1963 began serving as their new frontman / vocalist. In short, Easton was then the lead vocalist on the band's second single, "The Jolly Green Giant" (Wand #172), their debut album The Kingsmen In Person (Wand #657) -- and probably every Kingsmen recording that followed up into 1967. Around 1968 Easton began hosting a teen-oriented music show, This Is It, on Portland's KGW-TV.
