Keyboard artist and vocalist Mark Jeneniewski has been kicking around the Portland's music scene for eight years playing everything from "soup to nuts, rock to lounges." A year and a half ago while appearing with guitarist Chuck Wentzel under the name Wild Child, the two decided to being putting together their "dream band." With the addition of new personnel came the name change  to Oasis and, now, Freeway, plus a change of venue from lounges to the rock club environment. Commenting on today's Freeway, Jeleniewski says the act lays down a blend of funk, soul, jazz and rock in a very dance-oriented format.  And, he emphasizes, that format is becoming more and more highlighted by original material. As for the band's first recordings, Mark says both feature a near-funk dance feel. "Get The Feelin" is described as good time dance music, while the faster "help yourself" carries the philosophical message "Don't Waste Time. Get out and do what you want."
