MISC NOTES:
Debut recording for Vancouver, Washington's Gaylon Hall. Missouri born, but raised in California, the now forty two year old Hall says he considers himself more of a songwriter than a performer, the former pursuit being one he began in the early 1970s after moving his family to the Pacific Northwest. Commenting on the recordings, - which he says were done just to see if he could get something going with his songs on his own - he characterizes "California, How I Remember You" as a contemporary, easy listening country song, lyrically focusing on a lost love. As for "Before You Go", Gaylon says the tune is a more mid-tempoed ballad focusing on the breakup of a love affair. Both songs feature Hall's whistling skills.
The preceding originally appeared in NORTHWEST DISC-COVERIES & SOUNDS REPORT Volume 7 #2 April, 1982.
