Misc Notes: Roy Jackson (clarinet); Kash Duncan (violin); Marcellus Martin (accordion); B. McKethen (guitar); Dave Yeary (bass). Info from the internet suggests that: The Northwesterners grew out a pre-war group, the Pals of the Golden West. Jackson (as "Bud" Jackson) was one of the original members of the that group and Kash Duncan had replaced the original fiddler (Lucky Pulliam) in about 1940-41. The Pals, whose star was girl singer Nora Lou Martin, appeared in three of Autry films and one or two other westerns. Scotty Harrell was a member for a while before the war broke them up. Jackson seems to have formed the Northwesterners after the war. In 1949 Billboard magazine noted that the KEX radio-affiliated band was recording for Rose City Records with this lineup: Roy Jackson; McKethen (guitar); Yeary (bass); Howard Duncan (violin); and Marc Martin (accordion).
