MISC NOTES: Thirty-two-year-old guitarist / singer / songwriter Lane James is a born-and-raised Seattleite. For the past ten years he's operated a wood finishing business in the the city's Pioneer Square district, but the love of his life has always been the creation of music, a fact, says Lane that has made staying home "a battle." "How," asks James, "does a person with minimum performance exposure establish ones self as a creative musical force without leaving the nest?" For Lane, the answer has come through continued work both in his business plus long hours in the recording studio. And, with his first record now available he says he's beginning to "break the eggshell." Lane characterizes his "Mountain Man" as a mid-tempo listening song that is not a "gimmick" tune. Instead, it focus on Mt. St. Helens' Harry Truman as the emotional personal of anyone whose commitment to life beliefs separates them from others. As for "Taking The Happy Road Home", Lane says it is a bluesy rock song lyrically exposing that despite life's ups and downs it's how one views them that is important.
