MISC NOTES:

Single outing for a twenty five year ol performer and songwriter long involve in the professional music scene of the mid western U.S. until taking a brief hiatus and moving to the Pacific  Northwest several years back. Now, says Paul, its time to get back into performing. As  a first step in this direction he has chosen to get into Seattle's Triangle Recording for the vinylizing of two of his original compositions. Commenting on those compositions, Maurice Points to "Good Girls" as an up beat rock tune with lyrical focus penned from a friend's lifestyle, while "Long Time"  is characterized as  a slow ballad that makes one think about a woman.

The preceding originally appeared in NORTHWEST DISC-COVERIES& SOUND REPORT Volume 7 #7 September, 1982.

MISC NOTES: Second solo outing from Maurice Paul, a multi-talented singer/songwriter who moved from Jefferson City, Missouri to Seattle 6 years ago. He describes his music as a "happy medium between upbeat rock and new wave". His main instrument is the  drums, but he is equally at home on keyboards. "I Like to record because it gives me the chance to play keyboards, drums and sing all on the same song." Not having a full time band, Maurice doesn't get the opportunity to perform publicly, but his work with a Seattle music company keeps him "into music 24 hours a day." Commenting on the two recorded tunes, Maurice says "Smalltown U.S.A." was written for the friends I've met since moving here 6 years ago. We're all from small Midwest towns". The flipside - "There's You" - was chosen because of its new wave "atmosphere". Commenting on future projects Maurice adds, "I've plans to be back in the studio in the near future. Each time I do it's a little easier and more relaxed." [NORTHWEST DISC-COVERIES & SOUND REPORT  Volume 8 #6 August, 1983.]
