MISC NOTES: Peace, Bread & Land Band: A Northwest communal psychedelic folk-rock record by a band featuring Sid Brown after his stint with the Spike Drivers in Detroit. It came with a 10-by-13-inch envelope with sheet music for four of the six songs, and printed lyrics, pictures of Ho Chi Minh and Angela Davis, raised fists, slogans expressing solidarity with the people of Vietnam, a "people's financial report" on the expenses involved in making and shipping the record (which was sold by mail for $2, the profit from which was "divided equally between Black Panther Party's Survival Programs, Angela Davis Defense Committee," and some women's free clinics), etc. The liner notes to their second disc, Mill Town Blues state that all 1,000 copies of Liberation sold and helped pay for the production of that latter disc.
