MISC NOTES:

With the National Basketball Association regular season just around the corner Sonics fans may want to acquaint, or a least reacquaint, themselves with a song heard continually during television breaks throughout the Sonics/Bullets Championship games and on local airwaves thereafter. Few realized the up tempo disco number being played was Luther Rabb's "Seattle Sonics Do It". Now available as a single, the "specialty lyrics" tune is backed by  "Seattle Disco Groovin' Tonight" . Same melody, but non-Sonics vocals. The latter is a shortened version of the same tune which appeared on Rabb's solo album debut, "Street Angel" (MCA Records #3079, Universal City, California ca. April, 1979). Luther Rabb, as people may know, currently appears with the group War, but traces Seattle roots back through such '60s and '70s bands (as) Emergency Exit and Ballin' Jack.

A variation of the preceding originally appeared in NORTHWEST DISC-COVERIES & SOUND REPORT  Volume 4 # 7 September, 1979.
