Misc Notes: A family-based funk band -- "From the Planet Septimi" -- comprised of: Herman Brown (guitar / vocals / synth guitar); Frank Brown (lead vocals/ keys); Coleman Brown (guitar/ backing vocals); Ronald Brown-Fortson (bass / vocals). Cynthena Brown, Sandra Brown, Diane Brown, Brenda Brown & Romeo Bollio (backing vocals). Born in Seattle, Herman Brown, went on to work as a session player in Los Angeles. In 1981 he was recruited into group called Ozone that was mainly comprised of Nashville players. In 1982 Ozone released the Li'l Suzy album and they also did recording sessions backing numerous funk and soul artists including Bobby Nunn ("She's Just A Groupie" and Private Party), Teena Marie, Irons In The Fire, and the Sylvers ("Forever Yours"). Ozone's Glasses album yielded a minor hit, "(Our Hearts) Will Always Shine." In 1983 Brown returned home to Seattle where he formed formed Septimus who gigged regularly in Canada where they -- including Colman Brown, Willie Fisher, and Enrique Bell -- recorded a song, "Here I Go Again" which was released in 1987, and then decades later resurfaced on the Wheedle's Groove compilation LP.
