VANCE & the CHECKMATES, TOMMY [CAN]

Homebase: Vancouver, BC Canada
Stats:
Misc Notes: Tommy Vance, a British DJ, was hired for the afternoon shift at KOL - AM radio in Seattle during the height of Beatlemania (ca. 1965). He became a popular air personality and rumor has it that Pat O'Day p.d. at KJR - AM sensed this as a threat and began badmouthing him around town as a bad risk for concert promotions, etc., so Vance eventually departed.
