Misc Notes: Wilfred Theodore "Ted" Weems (originally: Wemyes) was an American bandleader and musician. Born in Pennsylvania, he formed the All American Band while at college. They were signed to Victor records from 1923 through 1933. After WWII, the band was reorganized and in 1945 they signed with Mercury Records -- leading to their recording of the boosterish tune, "Go See Seattle." Weems toured his band into 1953, and then stepped aside to work as a radio DJ in Memphis. Then, while running a talent agency in Dallas, Texas, he died in 1963.
MISC NOTES: A-side song is a boosterish tune promoting the idea of tourists visiting Seattle. A-side recorded in July 1947, B-side recorded in March 1948.
