As the 1940s came to a close and cALIFORNIA'S 4 sTAR rECORDS DECLINED TO RELEASE A COUPLE rECORDINGS SUBMITTED TO THEM BY aRKIE sHIBLEY, HE DECIDED TO LAUNCH HIS OWN rECORD cOMPANY AND FORMED mt dew record. The label was subsequently changed to Mountain Dew Records.
Mt Dew labels featured a top-centered logo. The logo was not featured on Mountain Dew Records.
