"Open Your Eyes" / "It Is No Secret"

ARTIST: DEALY, PEGGY
SERIAL#: 45-190
DATE: 1980-11

MISC NOTES: Debut recordings by a Yakima, Washington, native long interested in, and active in musical activities, but until now, never in the solo spotlight. Ms. Dealy was active with a local folk group, The St. Paul Singers during the mid 1970s, an experience which first initiated her to the art of songwriting. Here in her first record Peggy features a tune which she penned with the aid of local friend, T.R. Duffy. Commenting on "Open Your Eyes" Ms. Dealy characterize the tune as a mid-tempo country gospel number with the lyrical message that even when people feel most alone in their lives they can find the Lord. As for "It Is No Secret" Ms. Dealy says it is a slower, gospel standard popular some years back. [NORTHWEST DISC-COVERIES & SOUND REPORT Volume 6 #2 April, 1981.]
