"Portland City Of Roses" / "Mt. St. Helens U.S.A."

SERIAL#: 45-195
DATE: 1981-01

MISC NOTES: Missouri's Harold Clark has been performing country music for most of his sixty nine years. Some fifteen years ago with the help of Ozark Jubilee's Red Foley Harold began writing his own tunes, a pursuit which, to date, has seen the release of several recordings in his home state.  Harold's latest, though come from the Northwest for it was while visiting with relatives in Oregon that the inspiration for these tunes came about. Commenting on "Portland City Of Roses" Mr. Clark says  it is an uptempo number lyrically covering the sights one encounters flying over eight states between St. Louis and Portland. As for "Mt. St. Helen U.S.A.", Harold characterizes the song as a ballad focusing on the death and destruction resulting from the May 18, 1980 eruption of the volcano which he witnessed while staying in the Northwest.
