"The Owl and The Pussycat" / "Light Of Love"

ARTIST: BARDS, The
SERIAL#: 224
DATE: 1966-09

MISC NOTES:

Having already experienced the "dirty lyrics" scandal regarding the Kingsmen's "Louie Louie," Jerry Dennon was wary about the lyrics to "Pussycat," so he initially shopped it around to a few other outside companies in a plain white logo-free label (#2148) before Capitol Records agreed to license it for national distribution. "Light of Love" was again used as the B-side of Piccadilly #242.
