MISC NOTES:
Don & The Goodtimes organist Don Galucci was an original member of The Kingsmen. When that band's recording of Louie, Louie went national in l963 (Wand #143) the group went "on the road." Galucci, still in high school, could not go with them.
Not long after, in 1964, Galucci and others formed Don & The Goodtimes. Their first recording, a rendition of "Turn On Song " by Seattle's Counts (Sea Crest #6003) bypassed local release and went directly onto New York's Wand records
The Goodtimes' follow up to "Turn On" was "There's Something On Your Mind" (Wand #184) which was backed by "Straight Scepter" a reply song to The Kingsmen's "Bent Sceptor" (Wand #150). The Sceptor songs were likely also fueled by the fact that a sister label to Wand was Sceptor Records.
