Stats: Robert J. "Bashful Bobby" Wooten (b.1927 Paris, AR - d. 10/1/1998 Carlisle, AR).
MISC NOTES: Born Robert J. Wootton, he changed his surname for career reasons. Prior to moving to Seattle and founding the General Recording Company label, Wooten, a talented musician in his own right, recorded and released records with others and under his own name. One of those discs (4 Star P106X45) came out in 1954. Wooten founded a recording studio in his home's basement, and also worked as a DJ on Seattle's popular radio station Kountry KAYO 1150-AM from 1963 to 1975.
