"Louie Louie" / "Haunted Castle"

SERIAL#: 712
DATE: 1963-04

MISC NOTES: In the wake of the national breakout of "Louie, Louie" in late-1963, Jerden Records was plagued by bootlegged copies of their original 45. However, the fraudulent discs - having different physical characteristics and stamper codes - are not perfectly exact reproductions of the originals, While it is not known who was behind these reproductions, it seems likely the bootleggers - and their pressing plants - were active on both coasts as well as in middle America.
