MISC NOTES: The Bards had already scored a few regional radio hits for Seattle's Jerry Dennon, when he approached Capitol Records seeking a big-time deal for them. Capitol liked the song "Owl" but was worried about the naughty double entendre of the title/lyrics. They cut a deal: Capitol would issue it on an anonymous plain white label and if the song got any traction with radio stations they would reconsider and issue it formally as a Capitol release. Well, radio balked and the project collapsed. Even so, the two songs were issued on the  Capitol label. See #2148. National "feeler" release of  both songs which had previously been issued in the Northwest as Piccadilly #224. White label with black numerals and lettering. No record company noted, but numbered as 2148. Officially issued thereafter as Capitol #2148.
